I'm excited to start a another year at Smithland! It's always fun to set up the classroom, meet new faces, and open brand new art materials for the children. The art studio is a place where students can be creative, use their imaginations and learn new concepts and skills in art making. When Smithland students come to art class we learn about various artists, media, and cultures while also creating their original works of art. 
Smithland artists will work collaboratively with some projects and use creative problem solving skills when tackling challenges. They will explore drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, fiber arts and mixed media projects throughout this school year. 3rd and 4th graders are welcome to participate in our art club that meets after school. More information will be distributed to interested students this fall.
